Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

On May 22, 2010 Sam and I attened the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event at Comerica Park. Unfortunately it was raining, but everyones spirits were up and continued on fighting for the cause. Sam and I volunteered at the “I am CURE booth”. We passed out keychains and pens that helped raise awareness for breast cancer. We were interviewed by http://www.karmanos.org/ and channel 955 also took a picture of us to put on their website. It was a really fun event and everyone that volunteered and participated is amazing! (I’ll put up pictures in a little bit)

Relay for Life

On May 15, 2010 Sam and I volunteered at Relay for Life. We arrived around 11:30am to greet and hand out goodie bags to the survivors and caregivers at the registration table. At 12:00pm the ceremony started, Sam and I each said a few inspirational words on stage to the survivors and caregivers, we sang the “Happy Birthday” Song and then the suriviors took their first lap. Sam and I took a lot of pictures, signed autographs and met with many of the amazing suriviors and their caregivers. We even walked 3 miles in heels that day for the cause!

Detroit Lions vs. Saginaw Crime Stoppers

On May 12, 2010 Shelley, Sam and I made an appearance in Saginaw. We watched the Detroit Lions play the Saginaw Crime Stoppers in a few games of basketball. We were all interviewed at half time by the annoucer, we signed autographs and took lots of pictures. The Detroit Lions and Saginaw Crime Stoppers were great, and it was nice to be able to meet them. I made a free throw during one of the games and made it…in heels and all!

On April 25, 2010 Sam and I were invited to visit and help out at our local fair. We helped kids play the games, helped the workers and walked around the greet everyone. I love fairs, so this was very enjoyable.

The Special Olympics – Superstars

On April 25, 2010 Sam and I volunteered with the Special Olympics at their Superstars event held at the Ultimate Soccer Arena in Pontiac. Local celebrities were separated into teams with the Special Olympics athletes and competed in three different obstacle courses. Sam and I also were interviewed by a local television station and took lots of pictures with the athletes. It was so much fun and all the Special Olympic athletes were very inspirational.

Photoshoot with David Defoe

On April 24, 2010 Sam and I had a photoshoot with David Defoe. We had some pictures taken indoors and outdoors, with crowns/sashes and without crowns/sashes. It was a lot of fun and the pictures came out great.

Junior Miss Washtenaw Pageant

On April 17, 2010 I had the wonderful opprotunity to be visiting royalty at the Junior Miss Washtenaw Pageant. I arrived that afternoon to help out before the pageant. I was able to talk to many of the young girls during this time and try and help them prepare for the upcoming event. The pageant was amazing and the stage looked beautiful. All of the contestants were stunning and equally deserving of the title. In the end, the the Little Miss Washtenaw title went to Megan Brown, the Junior Miss Washtenaw title went to Sofia Sokansanj, and the Pre-Teen Miss Washtenaw title went to Kenzie Devine.
